🦉 The brambling (Fringilla montifringilla)

📚 Fringilla (lat.) Finch; fi nco (old German)
📚 montifringilla lat .: mōns, montis mountain, mountain range

A close relative of the chaffinch, but chaffinches are not at all friendly with them. I have repeatedly seen how they attack bramblings when they fly into their territory.

With the advent of spring, we should already expect the arrival of these bright birds. Moreover, if it is already warm, then they can appear in the forests even when the snow has just begun to melt. In other cases, they are always there at the end of April. Birds actively sing with their buzzing voices, similar to the sounds of greenfinches, and both males and females sing.
