And here again is a wonderful bird contest from @nelinoeva . And this week's theme is - MALE BIRDS

ā˜ As a rule, the males of the birds are brightly colored in order to show the females themselves in all their glory. Bright plumage indicates the good health of the male, and the female chooses the strongest, healthiest, most promising male to pass on these genes to her offspring.

The common redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus)
Very beautiful and bright birds. It's funny that in the summer, the males are very brave, and are ready to sacrifice themselves to protect the offspring and the female.

The Eurasian golden oriole (Oriolus oriolus)
One of the brightest birds. The female is painted a little differently, she has a white bottom of the body. And the males are completely yellow.

The common chaffinch or simply the chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)
The females of these birds outwardly look a bit like the sparrows we are used to. And the males are a beautiful wine color. They sing throughout the forest and are ready to fight not only with each other, but also with other birds.

The bluethroat (Luscinia svecica)
The males of these colorful nightingales have a blue tie with red spots (north species). And the females do not have a tie, and the spots are black.

The western yellow wagtail (Motacilla flava)
In spring, in open spaces, you can see these birds. Bright lemon-colored males stand out especially.

The European pied flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca)
The females of these birds are brown, fair. And males, this is very interesting, have several levels of color gradations. From dark as in this photo, to light tones like in females.

The common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus)
The older the male, the brighter and richer the colors in his plumage. But females are generally easy to confuse with sparrows. Only a thick beak of a different shape.

A handsome male often sings while sitting in the bushes. And females are silent and constantly hide.
