SMaP 108 - Free Theme (Ducks)

Thanks to @nelinoeva for the new contest. You can read the rules and announcement here.
And this week's theme is - Free Theme.
And I decided to share with you my photos of wild ducks.

The mallard or wild duck (Anas platyrhynchos)
This duck needs no introduction. Everyone around the world knows her.

They live everywhere, both in the wild on reservoirs, and in city ponds, rivers.

In my city, they live all year round near the river that flows through the city. People feed them, so they do not fly away even in winter.

The northern shoveler (Spatula clypeata)
This duck is very similar to the mallard in plumage, but it has a special wide beak. I always meet them in the steppe zone.

Above is a male and this is a female.

The Eurasian teal (Anas crecca), common teal, or Eurasian green-winged teal
Another duck that looks like a mallard, or to be more precise, females look like them. And unfortunately I did not meet males, strange. They are distinguished by a green spot on the wings on the side, the so-called "mirror".

The common merganser (North American) or goosander (Eurasian) (Mergus merganser)
These ducks have recently appeared. Previously, they were only a span, but now they live here. I always see them by the big river flowing along the city.

The Eurasian wigeon or European wigeon (Mareca penelope), also known as the widgeon
And I meet these ducks in late autumn on a lake in a coniferous forest. They very cleverly dive under the floor in search of food.
