Thank you @nelinoeva for the contest. This week's theme is BIRD WITH FISH. Competition rules here
The common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)
I see these guys every year in the same place. And one spring, they had their mating season as usual, and the male caught a small fish to give to the female. Unfortunately the fish are hard to see.
The black kite (Milvus migrans)
The largest number of these birds lives in our city near a large city river. They fly over the river and look for fish. By nature, these birds are scavengers, so their hunting skills are not high. And flying up to the surface of the water and grabbing a fish from it is a great success for them.
If you enlarge the photo, you can see the fish in his paws.
The black-headed gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus)
In the same place, on this river, there are different types of gulls. This seagull caught a fish, it all happened very quickly, I managed to take only such a picture.
The green sandpiper (Tringa ochropus)
And these long-legged guys eat insects, and spiders, and mollusks, and fish as well. There are not many fish in this lake, but they are lucky.
The wood sandpiper (Tringa glareola)
These sandpipers were also next to them, and walked nearby. They saw that there were fish in the lake and quickly approached. Surprisingly, the two types of sandpipers did not conflict at all.
