π¦ The European goldfinch or simply the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)
- Carduelis carduus (Latin) thistle
Every year in February, small flocks of these beautiful colorful birds appear in the city. They chirp while sitting in the trees, chase each other, and inspect the snow under the trees for fallen seeds. At this time, they already form pairs, and then, closer to April, the flocks break up.
These birds are in the forests all year round, but itβs not easy to take a photo, as they are very wary. And only when the birds feast on their favorite food - thistles - do they seem to forget about everything and lose their vigilance.
