🦉 The yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)

These yellow birds are few in number in the forests of my city, but they are stable. I mean that once you see a bird in some place, you can be sure that next year you will see it again in exactly the same place. This particular male from the photo always lives in the area of the ravine where a small spring flows.

He arrives in early spring, when there is still a lot of snow, sits on the trees closest to the ravine and sings a song.
Despite the fact that the bird is predominantly granivorous, I saw this male catching and eating insects in the ground.
