Some feathered friends here today.

I have a variety of bird species that I want to show you.

First up is a European Starling (Sturnis vulgaris) with its yellow branding.

Since the starlings were released in our country, they have simply bred into large clouds of starlings that are impossible to number. Not that this releases us from the dangers that we face with the dire situation of the bird extinctions. I will do a detailed post about the pending extinctions and believe me that it will be a wakeup call to all of us.
But for now, let's have a look at our birds today.

Indeed a very beautiful bird.

Then we have a little female of the Southern Double-collared Sunbird clan. (Cinniyris chalybeues)

Her husband sat singing to the world quite a distance away.

A cute little Karoo Prinea that we call Tea Bag (Prinia maculosa) sat and posed for me.

I caught this Malachite Sunbird with his single note song from below. (Nectarinia famosa).

Finally something bigger and here is a Jackal Buzzard doing its thing (Buteo rufofuscus)

The heavens here are alive with birds of most kinds as they love the African sun. Birds from countries far and wide away across the world come to visit here during the summer months and many species also breed here.
Obviously some of the species get used to our warm winters and they don't do the return migration, resulting in their numbers growing here. Now the thing is that over time the ones that stay gradually change in color and size and then they become indigent birds that are found nowhere else on the planet. Just an amazing situation.
Reminds me of how people emigrate from our country and then over time become citizens of the countries that they settle in.
Such is life!

And That's All Friends.
