A family of Pied Crows.

Crows don't mind the strong winds as they are expert flyers.

And of course, crows also have a strong family and community bond.

They are reckoned as some of the most intelligent birds and one alarm call from a crow whenever a strange raptor enters their territories, will result in an army of crows attacking the stranger in the air.
It is only the meat eating raptor birds that the crows will attack and they leave all of the other birds alone, except of course if it is hungry and goes out nest hunting for food.

This was some kind of political meeting, and we watched the delegates arriving.

The pied crow (Corvus albus) is a widely distributed African bird species in the crow genus.
Structurally, the pied crow is better thought of as a small crow-sized raven, especially as it can hybridise with the Somali crow (dwarf raven) where their ranges meet in the Horn of Africa. Its behaviour, though, is more typical of the Eurasian carrion crows, and it may be a modern link (along with the Somali crow) between the Eurasian crows and the common raven.

The scout (also in the first picture) was flying high up above the meeting and keeping an eye out for opposition party snoopers.

I think the leading couple at the right in the black suits was on their way to the toilet, while their two bodyguards at the left were looking around for any suspicious movements.

Would this fly over perhaps be spies?

No, just two sets of Hadeda Ibis (Bostrychia hadedash) birds coming over.

I love to put some imaginative stories to the pictures that I take of animals and birds, as we are all supposed to have fun here on Hive.
Life can certainly get to us and when one gets a bit older, many new health battles enter the ring. But it has always been humor that I use as a crutch and it works well, for me at least.
So, I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Note: I will be away for 3 days, as I have to undergo a hospital procedure, but I will catch up on the replies as soon as I am back.
