THIRST in the Frost - Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 3 - my entry

This scene was spied on by me in November. The days before were chilly but not very cold. On my way to work that day, I notices that the puddle near the bus station froze for the first time.

Birds usually never wait for me, they disappear in a part of a second, at the very moment when I switch the camera on my telephone. 🙂 But not that day! I approached the pigeons, I was happy that they were too busy to see me and were nearly motionless, although I did not understand why. Only on my close approach I could see that they were making a hole in the ice crust trying to reach the water!

These two were working in a team!

I do not know if I am right, but it looks like two female pigeons had done all the work and then the male one arrived! Just on time, didn't he?!

This is my first entry to the Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest hosted by @nelinoeva. The topic this week is Two Birds, so my first top pictures match it, I guess.

Here is the link to the contest: @nelinoeva/feathered-friends-show-me-a-photo-contest-round-3

The pictures were taken with the camera of my telephone Huawei P9.
My first idea was to present these pictures in Shadow Hunters contest by @melinda010100 ❤️, but the shadows were not sharp enough, so I decides to make my first try in the community which is new for me.

I wish good luck to every participant 🌼
