Last Friday I made a post about a nocturnal bird of prey - the long-eared owl. Today I'll talk about a diurnal bird of prey - the common buzzard.
In addition to common kestrel is the most numerous daily predator in this area. Most often, you can see it lurking prey from some elevated place such as trees, power lines, or poles. Although the common buzzard has excellent eyesight, it also has very fine hearing, which is used to detect the position of prey or possible threats.
It is a very useful bird that helps control a huge number of rodents in populated areas around agricultural fields.
