Being in Thailand I obviously was about to see new species of birds. The one, most common I have encountered is the zebra dove or barred ground dove. Of course I did not how it was called when I first saw it, so I googled it to find out more about this little birdie.
This one was laying on the ground and I thought it might be injured. When I approched it, it took off and was quite all right.
Here are some more shots of another dove standing on a lamp post.
Similar to zebra dove is the peaceful dove, who lives in Australia and New Guinea.
