Hay fotos que nos invitan a soñar, que cuando las vemos nos generan satisfacción, hablo de imágenes que inmediatamente evocan en nosotros sentimientos nobles y nos sacan una sonrisa.
Quiero hablarles un poco sobre el Placer Visual en la Fotografía y se los voy a explicar a mi mido. Podemos definirlo como la sensación que tiene el cerebro cuando conectan sus emociones con una fotografía.
Esa conexión ocurre por afinidad, empatía u asombro. Mediante esas cualidades, el espectador crea un vínculo con lo que esta viendo para disfrutar la escena que ha capturado el fotógrafo. Un cuarto elemento podría ser la ternura.
There are photos that invite us to dream, that when we see them generate satisfaction, I am talking about images that immediately evoke noble feelings in us and make us smile.
I want to talk about Visual Pleasure in Photography and I am going to explain it to you in my own words. We can define it as the sensation that the brain has when you connect your emotions with a photograph.
That connection occurs through affinity, empathy or awe. Through these qualities, the viewer creates a bond with what they are seeing to enjoy the scene that the photographer has captured. A fourth element could be tenderness.
Cuando fotografiamos animales y obtenemos detalles de sus rostros, pelaje, escamas, plumaje o su piel y especialmente de sus ojos, podemos obtener gran placer visual.
Acá les comparto tres fotos de un pelícano que surcaba los cielos de Isla Larga (una playa de Venezuela) y les puedo garantizar que la que menos placer visual les genera del trío de imágenes, es la que sale el ave despegando del muelle.
Esto tiene que ver en que no se le ve el rostro al ave y existe una asociación primitiva que hace nuestro cerebro con los ojos y la estructura ósea.
When we photograph animals and get details of their faces, fur, scales, plumage or skin and especially their eyes, we can get great visual pleasure.
Here I share with you three photos of a pelican flying the skies of Isla Larga (a beach in Venezuela) and I can guarantee that the one that generates the least visual pleasure of the trio of images is the one where the bird is taking off from the dock.

Al analizar a las otras dos tomas, vemos que existen grandes detalles en su plumaje, en su pico y en la mirada del pelicano. Él posee una expresión que cada quien puede interpretar a su modo, pero esa subjetividad le otorga una conexión con el público.
Otros aspectos a considerar en la escena son las siluetas del ave cuando volaba. También podemos disfrutar de la mezcla de colores, los cuales he intensificado en edición.
It is a great moment, but the pose of the feathered bird made it impossible to see the facial expression that the bird had when he began to fly.
Looking at the other two shots, we see that there is great detail in the pelican's plumage, beak and gaze.He has an expression that everyone can interpret in their own way, but that subjectivity gives him a connection with the audience.
Other aspects to consider in the scene are the silhouettes of the bird in flight. We can also enjoy the mix of colors, which I have intensified in editing.
Existen otros detalles que cada quien hará suyo como espectador. La subjetividad hará que cada quien aprecie cada foto de forma particular.
La meta es crear consciencia fotográfica de este concepto para asombrar a nuestra audiencia cuando captemos algo que cause asombro y nos feliciten, esto se deberá, en parte, al placer visual que hemos captado.
There are some other details that everyone will make unique as a viewer. Subjectivity will allow each person to appreciate in a particular way each photo.
The goal is to create photographic awareness of this concept to amaze our audience when we capture something that causes astonishment and they congratulate us, this will be due, in part, to the visual pleasure we have captured.
