Gull in the snow

I am posting these gull photos today and am hoping someone can identify it for me. I always have a difficult time identifying gulls.

There are 40 species of gulls and I am uncertain which one this is. I live in the woods and never see gulls here, and only see them infrequently in town when they raid our city garbage dump.

These photos were taken recently by d-i-l Ella while she was on a walk along the shores of Lake Michigan, and were shared with me to post here. I am lucky that my kids think of my need for new photos, knowing that I have so few photo opportunities these days.

We have another winter storm predicted for this afternoon with 5 more inches of snow on the way. It will become more difficult to go on walks to the beach!
