Show Me a Photo Contest SMaP - Round 177
Last Sunday, the day of the presidential elections in my country, Venezuela, I spent most of the day volunteering at a polling station in the suburbs of the city.
Coincidentally in this place I attended high school many years ago, and for me it was very nice to return again to the institution where I graduated as a high school graduate, but this time fulfilling another role.
At the entrance there is a small pond that has been there since this educational unit was founded almost 5 decades ago, in what used to be a farm in a rural area back then, where a group of ducks, together with turtles and fishes, coexist peacefully in a very pleasant environment.
At the end of the afternoon I took these photos, however, unlike other occasions where I try to get close up to the birds and they immediately move away, the ducks rather approached me, and at first I thought they were trying to defend themselves by attacking me, but instead they did it in a friendly way, probably looking for me to feed them.
As I have described in previous posts, I usually make use of the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed, in order to improve or highlight some element of my images, without modifying their essence.
El pasado Domingo, día en que se realizaron las elecciones presidenciales en mi país, Venezuela, estuve durante gran parte del día colaborando como voluntario en un centro de votación en los suburbios de la ciudad.
Coincidencialmente en este lugar cursé mis estudios de secundaria muchos años atrás, y para mi fué muy grato regresar nuevamente a la institución de donde egresé como bachiller, aunque en esta ocasión cumpliendo otro rol.
En la entrada se encuentra un pequeño estanque que ha estado allí desde que esta unidad educativa fuese fundada hace casi 5 décadas, en lo que fuese una granja en una zona rural de aquel entonces, donde un grupo de patos, junto a tortugas, morrocoyes y peces, conviven pacíficamente en un ambiente muy grato.
Al final de la tarde tomé estas fotos, sin embargo, a diferencia de otras ocasiones donde procuro acercarme a las aves para realizar un close up y estas se alejan inmediatamente, los patos más bien se acercaron a mí, y en un primer momento pensé que buscaban defenderse atacándome, pero en lugar de ello, lo hicieron de forma amigable, probablemente buscando que los alimentara.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, acostumbro hacer uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed, con el objetivo de mejorar o destacar algún elemento de mis imágenes, sin modificar su esencia.
