Show Me a Photo Contest SMaP - Round 180
Pigeons are probably one of the most ordinary birds in existence, but in fact their ordinariness is based on the fact that they are found on every continent, in practically every country, and in an enormous variety of species and colors, which makes them one of the most common birds.
Since ancient times, pigeons have had continuous interaction with humans, being domesticated for use in sending messages over long distances, and then returning to their place of origin. On the other hand, a white dove symbolizes peace, one of humanity's greatest desires.
In the nearby town of Santa Rosa, located in the southeastern end of the city of Barquisimeto, in its Plaza Bolivar, hundreds of pigeons fly over the site, walk on the cobblestones of the floor, and have several dovecotes built by local authorities to serve as temporary shelter or home.
In the various visits I make to this town, I try to get close enough to photograph them, but they hardly remain still and unperturbed for long, they usually run or spread their wings to flee from my presence.
As I have described in previous posts, I usually make use of the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed, in order to improve or highlight some element of my images, without modifying their essence.
Las palomas son probablemente una de las aves más ordinarias que existen, pero es que en realidad su ordinariez se basa en que se encuentran en todos los continentes, en prácticamente todos los países, y en una enorme variedad de especies y colores, lo que las convierte en una de las aves más comunes.
Desde tiempos remotos, las palomas han tenido contínua interacción con los seres humanos, siendo domesticadas para ser usadas en el envío de mensajes a través de grandes distancias, para luego volver a su lugar de origen. Por otra parte, una paloma blanca simboliza la paz, uno de los mayores anhelos de la humanidad.
En el cercano poblado de Santa Rosa, ubicado en el extremo sureste de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, en su Plaza Bolívar, centenares de palomas sobrevuelan el sitio, caminan sobre los adoquines del piso, y cuentan con varios palomares construidos por las autoridades locales para que les sirven como refugio temporal u hogar.
En las diversas visitas que realizo a este pueblo, procuro acercarme lo suficientemente cerca para fotografiarlas, pero difícilmente permanecen quietas e imperturbables por mucho tiempo, generalmente corren o despliegan sus alas para huir de mi presencia.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, acostumbro hacer uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed, con el objetivo de mejorar o destacar algún elemento de mis imágenes, sin modificar su esencia.
