This week's theme for @featheredfriends run and organized by @nelinoeva and judged by @oks2crypto who always does a great job at selecting the best and as @nelinoeva said Pigeons and Doves can be found everywhere and are one of the easiest birds to be photograph as they are more human friendly coming closer without fear because they know they are probably going to be feed so here today I like to present to you my collection of Pigeons and Doves.
The Common Pigeon or Domestic Pigeon also know as the Rock Pigeon which are seen in almost every corner of the planet are the world's oldest domesticated bird having been around for about 5,000 years in the very early years these birds were used as messenger pigeons in the ancient wars.
This bird I actually thought belonged to the family of Doves but after careful observation I came to find out that it's belongs to the Pigeon family one that is called the Crested Pigeon, I would have never thought this beautiful bird was a Pigeon more like a Zebra Dove the ones that are found in Thailand only this Crested Pigeon, I actually saw in my home country of Australia.
Pigeons and Doves believe it or not make very friendly pet birds they can be more easily trained then Seagulls in actual fact Pigeons are very famous for there Pigeon racing if trained from a young age they can advance to Pigeon racing at a very young age and amazingly these racing Pigeon can get up to speeds of 70 miles per hour that's pretty fast for a Pigeon.
I never realized there were so many species of Pigeons and Doves combined there are more than 300 species of wild Pigeons and Doves and many different names allocated to these beautiful birds they don't only have some pretty colors and stripes some of there names are pretty cool also like the Rock Pigeons, Homing Pigeons, Ice Pigeons, Oriental Roller Pigeons and the list goes on there names are almost like representing gangs or music bands.
