Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 104. The nuthatch

Hello, dear friends.
Alas, I couldn't take a closer shot of the nuthatch bird... But the beak of the nuthatch is clearly visible

A small nimble bird, a nuthatch, lives in a pine forest near my city. It is always interesting to see how the nuthatch moves along the tree trunks - in any direction, quickly and easily, even upside down. The beak of the nuthatch is straight, pointed, somewhat reminiscent of the beak of a small woodpecker.

The nuthatches feed on both plant food and small invertebrates, prudently stocking up for hungry time. The nuthatches use their beak and sharp claws to make depressions in the bark of the tree, where they store the found food, covering the entrance to the storage with moss and small twigs.
