The Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus); a loud and cheeky parrot native to the east coast of Australia from Queensland to South Australia. But, they have also been introduced to Perth, Western Australia, Tasmania, Auckland, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.

Apart from the Rainbow Lorikeet it has been confirmed recently that there are at least six other species of lorikeet and they can be found throughout Australasia.

Rainbow lorikeets feed mainly on fruit, pollen and nectar, and possess a tongue adapted specifically for their diet. But, they have also been known to eat meat.
