Birds of all sizes, colors, and species have these magical things called wings.
Wings allow birds to soar in the sky, float on the wind and perch on the tallest trees. Quite beautiful to observe. Because of the bird's ability to fly, some species fish while circling the sea, then dive for their supper.
Others float over the fields, then scoop down to pluck a field mouse for breakfast.
Seagulls aren't that picky, as I watched them on the beach go for junkfood.
Since retiring and joining #hive, I have become a birdwatcher. It's a very relaxing and also exhilarating hobby. The bird world is fascinating. The variety of sizes, colors, wingspans, shapes and hunting habits are interesting to see.
Here in Upstate NY, wild turkey can be found in the open fields as well as on the side of road or in the brush, sometimes startling me as I walk the #homestead.
They prefer waddling along, pecking for food in the fields.
But make no mistake, if a human tries to get too close, they are gone in flash as they spread their big beautiful WINGS and take flight.
Wild turkey have a unique array of colors in their feathers.
It doesn't matter if you are in the mountains or by the sea, birds will entertain you, as you watch them spread their wings.
