The dinner bell just rang, it's 5 o'clock, time to chow down.
The sun is slowly sliding over the mountain creating the perfect shadows of these colorful Goldfinch.
They swoop in to perch on the feeder, politely waiting their turn
to grab a bite.
These little birds are a harmonious group, sharing the food over polite conversation about their day.
"Hey Millie, how are the kids doing? Oh you know Mac, same o same o, always getting into some mischief". "Oh yes, I know the feeling, just the other day, little Frankie got his head stuck in a woodpeckers hole in the tree just outside the nest, had to tug him out, that little bugger, keeps me busy".
"Sophie on the other hand, is so mellow and obedient, she will sit quietly and just admire her shadow, such a love."
"Some of the cousins stopped in to say hello, leaving their shadows behind, quite a lively crew, but always welcome here. Plenty of food to go around".
The day is done, everyone is fed and ready for bed. Quiet slowly descends upon the forest as the darkness creeps in and the moon rises.
