**BLUE BIRDS IN THE SNOW** #featheredfriends in McDonough New York.

It's been quite a year here in the northeast of the good ole USA, the weather has been so unpredictable. I noticed some changes in early spring. We expect rain and lots of it, but we also plan on some drying days with lots of sunshine. Not so this year. We had rain upon rain, we couldn't string together 3 days of dry weather in May, June or July. This weather event had an impact on all the local farmers who raise livestock. Growing hay to feed the horses and cattle is such an important part of the puzzle. In order to harvest the best hay for livestock, it needs to be cut, fluffed and baled. If rain comes in during that cycle, fluffing is required to dry the hay, you can't bale wet hay. But with each cycle, important nutrition is diminished.

I have a cousin that lives on my road, and she has horses, goats, pigs, chickens and, wait for it... 9 dogs. She no longer raises cattle, trying to do her part for the planet, my cuz Lauren, our egg lady is amazing.

Her father taught her to love the land and nature. She feeds her stock only the best.

Lauren is a #birdwatcher too!!

Lauren and I agree, the bluejays rule around here, they chase all other birds away when they want to eat except when the northern Cardinal drops by for a bite.

Although the jays may be somewhat aggressive, they still are beautiful birds to observe, don't ya think?

These beautiful bluebirds don't seem to mind the cold or snow. They are sticking around and enjoying the food we provide for them in a trade for watching them do their thing in this winter wonderland.

I knew it was going to be a great day, the sun came up just in time for farm-mom to catch it's beauty.

Enjoy the weekend y'all, may life be good to you!
