my wife had some matters to attend to in kolhapur so we rented a flat in the nagala park area for a month. i had never been to the city before so i was looking forward to some markets, industrial areas. historic places and old style residential streets for some good photo opportunities i was certainly not expecting much in the way of birdlife. yet it so happened that there was a flowering coconut tree just outside our fourth floor window. much to our pleasing it attracted a number of familiar birds. however neither of us were prepared to see white eyes for the first time. i had never heard of them so you can imagine the delight to see these adorable feathered friends daily for the duration of the coconut flowering, in these photos the pair is patiently waiting on a branch of a nearby tree while some other birds were occupying the sought-after flowers.
the above photo is the entry but obviously i had to take more shots of these charmers. the camera is a Lumix DMC FZ300. i am very happy with the camera but at times like these i wonder if it would be better if i had a UV filter. any comments on filters would be appreciated
