Feathered Friends: Show Me A Photo Contest Round 111

Thank you to @nelinoeva for the interesting new theme of 'birdhouses'. The first photo is my entry to the contest. If you look closely you can see the box has been hijacked by perhaps a woodpecker. They have pecked a second hole into the wood to gain entry into the box.

This one is of a sandmartin colony nesting area. The sandmartins arrive in the UK in March time. They usually nest in the cliffs but the nature reserves have built houses for them.

The is an osprey nest, called an eyrie. Normally, they build their nest on the top of a large tree. This one has also been made for them at a local nature reserve.

I actually thought someone had thrown a blue carton up into the trees but it turned out to be an owl box. I think the makers could have used a better colour to blend in with the environment!

Someone has made this for their garden by cutting a hole into an old plastic pipe.

A couple more including a bird box with a side entrance. They have it all.

The last ones I spotted in the local bird shop, artisan bird nesters.

Thank you @nelinoeva, @melinda010100, and @barbara-orenya for the #smap contest.
