Osprey Pandion haliaetus
Osprey are a common species throughout many parts of the world, and seem to favor human made things, including human made nest platforms, utility poles and more. This individual is stopping on a utility pole wiht the large fish it just caught.
Anyone who has seen Osprey hunt has to love seeing them plunge feet-first into the water to emerge with a fish, sometimes a large fish, in their talons.
This is an Osprey nest with on a human-made platform with lots of human trash incorporated into the nest structure.
Osprey always after cathcing a fish, hold it headfirst with their talons to fly more efficiently.
