Vultures Drying Out - Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 174

I was driving home this afternoon after a big rainstorm and noticed these vultures. I've seen them drying out before, but never this many in one location!

We received a little over 3 inches of rain in about 2 hours, so it has been pretty wet! We live in Panama and it's rainy season, so it's not abnormal to have rain in the afternoon, but this was a lot today!

What's funny about these vultures is that normally you see them drying out in the sun, but there was no sun. They were all just perched on the roof of this abandoned house and the electric lines.

This isn't something that we see all the time. It's quite unusual, so I stopped to take a few photos.

Here is my official entry @nelinoeva for Feathered Friends Photo Contest #174 -

Aren't they just the coolest? Have you ever seen this before? Or so many in one location? There were probably 20 of them.

It started raining again. I'm wondering if they were able to fly somewhere to stay dry or if they'll be out again when it stops raining.

The word for vulture in Spanish is "buitre." I really like that word! What would you think if you saw this as you were driving down the road?
