Princess, Again?

"Ling, come on quickly. Let's watch!" he was summoning her out from her little corner to the bed. That was the second call so she gave in, closed her computer, and asked what they were going to watch.

"Princess!" he said excitedly as they made themselves comfortable over layers of pillows before he pushed the play button.

That was their routine for the whole week while the rain poured most of the day and night. The first film was of a princess who took a year off from her royal duties and went overseas to work as a commoner. I would suppose you have guessed he met her prince charming there?

The next was a story of a prince who was in the US where he was to propose to a Lady equal to his status but during the preparations, he met an editor's personal assistant who had mistaken him as a model looking for a job.

Another was of an outgoing chef being hired to prepare for a royal banquet and along the way, she ended up challenging the family's traditions or so.

Then there was the prince who met a seamstress/designer... well, you can probably guess the rest of the story.

The other day, he pulled her away from her computer. "What are we watching now? Please tell me it's not about a princess again?" she inquired, her eyes begging for him to say "No, it's something different" but all she got was a loud burst of laughter.

It was a Disney tale (Christmas theme) of a 13th century Knight who was to seek for his final quest and time-traveled to 2019. I'd leave the rest to your imagination, lol!

They had a few packs of chips and are now gone for they had been munching on them as they spent some hours on the screen — laughing, cuddling, dancing to the beats, and just "be"-ing like they had all the time in the world. Two films each afternoon and 2 after dinner until they doze off.

The hopelessly romantic farmboy went mad and downloaded romantic comedy films about royalties, balls, castles, Cinderella type of things, and tales of happily-ever-afters. Those kind that make you fantasize for a moment — imagining what it is like to be one of them. But then you realize you're far better off just as you are.

Anyhow, the rain is still lingering on today. No sign of it giving way to the sun. It's breezy too. The trip to the parents is still on hold. My old man suggested we should wait for the weather to clear up before we go to them.

I don't really like prolonged rainy days, but I like the fact that they allow us to loosen up a bit more and just let life take its course.

So... it looks like we are going to spend another weekend binge-watching. The husband has still a lot of those prince-princesses tales. If you don't see me around much today, you know who is to blame😂

Happy weekend everyone!
