Silver Bloggers' fourth Hive Power up Day & the door opens to younger old souls

Exciting update

As I write, Silver Bloggers have grown to 271 subscribers and of these, 102 are active in the community, but we now expect these numbers to grow even more and the reason for this is...

No age limit on Silver Bloggers, BUT & BECAUSE...

We have many younger not-yet-silver friends who have expressed their wish to join this community of vintage and well-seasoned bloggers.

And, we have found two things rather challenging:

  • The way the blockchain works, anyone can simply subscribe to any community, including ours.
  • Secondly, how do we verify that someone is 40 or older? Really?

As we believe in walking the talk, there no longer is an age limit to join our community!

That said, there are signals and signs that tell us about a person's vintage and key topics around which we encourage members to blog, reflect that.

So, we now welcome younger folk with old souls to join the older folk who are young at heart.

We still reserve the right to ask if you danced to Tainted Love.

A good foundation

In Fiona, our Silver Flower's words, a foundation for a strong community is being laid.

Our #BoW has grown with some awesome blogs coming through - with the number of contributions increasing with each edition.

If you'd like to learn what this is all about, check out our current #bow Challenge for the how-to.

The #bow initiative is doing exactly what we hoped for and in addition to the prizes it is indeed -

  • A fun way of getting to know each other a little better
  • Building community spirit
  • Building the community account so that the community account can better reward active members of the community.

In the community, you can, of course, blog about any of the key topics around which we encourage SBC members as we are mindful that some folk just don't do challenges, and while the #bow topic will jive for some, it may not for others.

All that's ok and it's what makes the world go round!

Delegations and OCD support

We've received 5811 Hive Power delegations, to date, from our members, with a delegation from @OCD witness, as well.

OCD continues to support quality content from our community.

Thank you one and all!

Hive Power up Day

Because we put our money where our mouths are, we are joining the monthly power up day that @traciyork hosts. To quote/summarise from Traci's post

...to qualify for the AMAZING Hive Power Up Day badge(s), your power up must happen during the 24 hours of August 1st, 2021 according to UTC time.

And/or

If you want to qualify for the #HivePUD prize pool, your power up and post must happen (according to criteria listed below) during the hours of August 1st, your local time.

What is Hive Power Up Day?

Hive Power Up Day has been taking place since @streetstyle came up with the idea on that other blockchain back in April 2019. Essentially we all get together and power up (stake) our Hive on the first day of every month, and some offer prizes to smaller accounts to help them grow.

What does it require?

On the first day of the month...
... anyone who is able to, powers up some Hive on the first of the month.
... accounts that are powering down, pause during the 24 hour span of the first of the month.
... anyone who is trading/selling Hive, pause those transactions during the 24 hour span of the first of the month (and possibly even cancel any type of sell order on any exchanges during that time as well).

What are the rules to win prizes for HivePUD?

The requirements are:

Your reputation must be above 39 and below 70.
Your total Hive Power (before the 1st) must be more than 100 and less than 8000.
You must power up at least 10 Hive on August 1st.
You must write a post about your power up on August 1st with the tag #HivePUD (International) or #HPUD (Spanish).
So, following the instructions, this is our post and here's evidence of our having powered up just over 72HP

We thank @ocd for their continued support of members' blogs, we truly appreciate it as it certainly encourages one and all to continue producing quality content.

We’d like to be able to support our members and grow this community. Help us do this in one of three ways (or all three):

  • add the community account to your fanbase so that you can autovote the Silver Bloggers community account (@hive-106316)
  • with a delegation which you can either do yourself from your wallet, or pick an amount from the table below
  • add @hive106316 as a 5% beneficiary when you post in the community

Come and join our Silver Bloggers community

And, thank you in advance
