For this edition of the Silver Bloggers Blog of the Week, we had a record number of entries...16 posted by 16 November!
However...sadly only SIX - yes 6 - qualified!!!
Why, you ask?
Although, the quality of the posts was once again of a high standard -

This week's topic was:
Tell us something about yourself that sounds like a lie, but it's actually the truth.
This for me, personally, was a real challenge, as there are many things I've experienced that no one would believe, but sad to say, many are not good memories. However, this topic brought back some really good memories as well, not only for me but also for many of our members.
We will start with the 2 ineligible entries from the Silver Bloggers Team.
Our super-efficient Silver Flower, got stuck in the loo on two occasions (one of my big phobias, by the way!) but she got to meet a living Saint; the larger than life but tiny in stature, St Theresa!

These are "stories" I don't often tell. I don't know why, but they don't often come up in conversation. The loony loo tales are probably the most told. Lavatorial humour is a fact of life.
I rarely tell of my meeting Mother Teresa. When I have occasion to mention it, it's generally met with a
No! You didn't, did you? Really?
The second ineligible entry came from Silver-Blond Lizzie who told the true story of How she slept on the rooftop of a high rise building, lost and found her John Lennon glasses in the beach sand.
Miracles do happen and my best friend found it so I was saved from having to tell Mom yet another fib!
So...this all really happened even though it sounds like a lie...I did sleep on the roof of a 20 storey building, lost and found my glasses on the beach sand and I survived to tell the story some five decades later!
It's the truth, and the whole truth your honour!
Remember that we mentioned in the announcement post, contributions not added to our announcement post as well as the Discord channel will not be considered.
As the community is approaching the 600 subscriber mark, we do need to stick to our own rules!
In addition to the two ineligible contributions, once again only six entries met all the criteria.

The criteria for entering the Silver Bloggers Blog of the Week initiative:
- Posts must be in English and obviously centre on the week’s topic.
- Prose must be a minimum of 350 words. If it’s a photo or graphic essay, the photos must be your original work and preferably with some sort of back-story to the images.
- The blog must be posted in/from our community
- The account must be a subscribed Silver Blogger
- Use #BoW - blog of the week - as your first tag. And follow the tag so we can all easily find, upvote and comment on other entries.
- Share the link to your entry in the comments of the announcement post and in our Discord channel which is open to subscribed members only.
We will continue to strictly apply these rules for the next and following editions.
Back to our 6 eligible entries, once again the team, consisting for the moment, of Silver-Blonde Lizzie, Sir Stirling Silver and Silver Flower, were unanimous as to the winners.
Special mention
@soyunasantacruz who has some silver in her hair now, entertained us with My story really seems like a lie (Fun) and almost committed Parricide; here's a little teaser for you...
When I was about 5 years old I got very angry with my mom because she scolded me for something I do not remember and surely deserved, what I do remember is that I noticed that no one was watching me commit a crime, while everyone was busy with their chores at home I grabbed a liter of disinfectant and emptied it into a bottle of drinking water, those sold for human consumption my intention was clear to poison my family, commit a patricide, this term I had to look it up on the internet because I did not know it had a name.
Runners up
Different though they both were, we had difficulty choosing between the runners up, so in no particular order, they are...
First up, we welcome another newcomer to #bow, @tengolotodo whose post was about Surviving not just one, but two plane crashes and I'm surprised that he was brave enough to get on that second plane!
As we neared touchdown the wind changed direction and whipped the plane sideways and almost catapulted it. Luckily one wing scraped the grass at the edge of the runway and helped slow us down. The undercarriage was a bit mangled and the plane ended up on the grass at an angle. The adults were quite shook up, I was more concerned about how I was meant to get to Edinburgh so as not to get into trouble from matron at school!
Silver Dish once again made it into the top three with her story Truth is stranger than fiction and told us how she only went to Violin lessons for seven years as a child because she liked had a bit of a crush??? on her music teacher; she did not like music at all, yet in her latter years went back to classes, ended up playing in some big bands and now loves music! This story is a reminder that it's never too late to learn new tricks!
When I got up the nerve, I started playing with other adults. I learned a bit about how to play secund (accompaniment), how to improvise, how to compose, how to be part of an ensemble, and how to jam. I became a member of several bands, one of which actually did gigs. And best of all, I now loved music.
That’s the big reveal.

So, i've been drunken for the first time with only three years old, to me at least, this is the reason i never really liked alcohol since. Until today i prefer water, coffee or tea. Don't get me wrong, i like to drink a glass of wine with dinner or going for a good night out with friends and have some Guinness. But that is just occasionally!
Conclusion: May we should make 3 year olds drink more applejack to be sure they wont like any alcohol later in life...
