Saturday Snippets - Egg shadows

Saturday post market brunch. My inner little girl was in her element. Perfectly boiled duck egg in my duck egg cup. Not very grown up, but who cares? I love it. Even with his chipped beak (on the other side, turned away from the camera...)

The Husband opted for hen's eggs. Two. That photo shows, albeit not well, the difference in colour and size. The hen's eggs were jumbos.

For those asking, the the flavour is not much different from a hen's egg but perhaps a little stronger. The albumen (white), though, is a bit more plastic (tough some might say) than hen's eggs. My penchant for eggs and dairy products would make a transition to a totally plant-based diet an enormous challenge. I will get more this week and although I say, now, that I won't spam my feed with more duck egg meals, I am not promising.

It was a properly hot, proper summer's day yesterday.

Shadow, light and colour, late yesterday afternoon as I was leaving for my first catch up of the year, and proper conversation with my publican friend who was happily run off her feet over the festive season.

I really am glad we are back to normal.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

  • Join Hive using this link and then join us in the Silver Bloggers' community by clicking on the logo.

  • lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.
