Looking for the Moon

The moon was playing hide and seek
Looking for Halloween
Once more

It's over so quickly, ticking off the box as it runs by. Another holiday passing by, leading up to the big ones. Must we put up with the cold harsh weather as it approaches the end of the year? Today was almost 80F (almost 27C) sp we have a ways to slide down the mercury before we see any icicles. Or anything remotely chilly.

The weather is still unseasonably something for this time of year. Not as warm as usual, but, Autumn came a little bit out of step, and it is still a festival of color, although, soon enough, it too shall go the way of the summer. Is your weather par for the course or are you experiencing a different pattern?

I woke to a weather advisory for today. Commuters and fog make terrible bedfellows. (as the saying goes) Patchy dense fog for most of the morning, followed by the increasing rays of sunshine. It ended so gloriously after the fender-bender rush hour kind of traffic. This is the view from my porch as I was getting into the car this morning. Yikes! Where was my car? Oh, yes. There.

pumpkin.

I never got to show off the carved pumpkin - a tree with a raven on it. This is the second year we have done this one. We also did three more, but I felt cheated that I didn't get to post them last night. So, pardon my lateness, something that seems to be following me around. Did you carve pumpkins for Halloween?

Despite all the leaves on the trees, there are many on the ground, although I believe they are just hovering in a big pile while the rest of the grass is empty.

We still have some time with the colors and I am enjoying the beauty of these days. I shall not waster nary one of them, as winter is on the way. Sooner than later, wouldn't you say? The weather is still warm, but in the blink of an eye, you know that can change. Are you having summer or leading into winter? Are you ready for it?

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

You know the candy corn goes away for another year! Kiss it goodbye! And just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and we'll do it again! Have a fabulous day!

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
