Un mundo mejor debería ser un mundo de paz basada en el respeto mutuo, el respeto a las diferencias, un mundo signado por la comprensión y la solidaridad. Comparto con ustedes la canción "The Pipes Of Peace" (Las Flautas de la Paz) original de Paul Mc Cartney.
En 1914, en medio de la locura de un mundo donde un mal entendido nacionalismo dio lugar a crímenes atroces, ocurrió un hecho inusitado en el frente de batalla, en el contexto de la primera guerra mundial, una de las guerras más violentas de la historia. Era Navidad y en medio de un frío despiadado dos líneas de soldados enemigos, cada uno desde su trinchera vigilaba la línea opuesta en una carrera por matar y no dejarse matar. La noche de Navidad, sin embargo, de pronto, de uno de los frentes comenzó a escucharse una voz que entonaba la conocida pieza “Noche de paz”. Pronto fue coreada por voces llenas de nostalgias de otros tiempos, recuerdos de las familias dejadas atrás. Lo inusitado fue que de las filas enemigas pronto otras voces, en otro idioma se unieron a este canto de paz universal y…ocurrió el milagro: de sus respectivas trincheras salieron ambos pelotones, sobre sus cabezas ondeaba la bandera blanca de la tregua, y los hombres que la noche anterior estaban en posición de matar y no dejarse matar pasaron el tiempo compartiendo, entonando cantos navideños ¡Hasta jugaron fútbol!
Esta escena es recreada en el video oficial de esta canción de Paul McCartney, en el cual él mismo interpreta el papel de ambos jefes de tropa, una forma de dejar claro el mensaje de que el otro, por muy diferente que sean sus creencias, cultura, idioma, costumbres, aspecto físico… en el fondo, es como yo.

A better world should be a world of peace based on mutual respect, respect for differences, a world marked by understanding and solidarity. I share with you the song "The Pipes Of Peace" by Paul McCartney.
In 1914, in the midst of the madness of a world where a misunderstood nationalism gave rise to heinous crimes, an unusual event occurred on the battlefront, in the context of the first world war, one of the most violent wars in history. It was Christmas and in the middle of a merciless cold two lines of enemy soldiers, each one from his trench watched the opposite line in a race to kill and not be killed. On Christmas night, however, suddenly, from one of the fronts, a voice began to be heard singing the well-known piece “Silent Night”. Soon it was echoed by voices full of nostalgia for other times, memories of families left behind. What was unusual was that soon other voices, in another language, joined the song of universal peace from the enemy ranks and... the miracle happened: both platoons emerged from their respective trenches, the white flag of truce fluttered above their heads, and the Men who the night before were in a position to kill and not let themselves be killed spent their time sharing, singing Christmas songs. They even played soccer!
This scene is recreated in the official video of this song by Paul McCartney, in which he himself plays the role of both troop leaders, a way of making the message clear that the other, no matter how different their beliefs, culture , language, customs, physical appearance... deep down, he's like me.

Esta canción nos invita a enseñar a los niños canciones de alegría, no de guerra, sin embargo, lo que estamos alimentando en ellos es la violencia. La mayoría de los video juegos infantiles se ganan mientras más "enemigos" mates. Y nuestros niños de hoy, alimentando sus mentes y emociones con agresividad ¿Qué aportarán al mundo cuando sean adultos? Si queremos un mundo mejor, debemos sembrar en nuestros niños las semillas de la tolerancia, la solidaridad, el amor. Enseñarles que todos debemos respetarnos, aceptando nuestras diferencias, que todos somos uno y solamente unidos lograremos obtener cosas buenas.
This song invites us to teach children songs of joy, not of war, however, what we are feeding in them is violence. Most children's video games are won the more "enemies" they kill. And our children today, feeding their minds and emotions with aggressiveness, what will they contribute to the world when they are adults? If we want a better world, we must sow in our children the seeds of tolerance, solidarity, love. . Teach them that we should all respect each other, accepting our differences, that we are all one and only united will we achieve good things.
