Yo sé que un día tuviste sueños
Moviste un río cuando pequeño
Pero tu alma se te alegraba
Con la llegada del vendaval
Huellas cansadas tienen tus pasos
Pero aunque el río sea muy manso
Poquito a poco, se enfrenta al mar
Vuelve a tu canto de turpial
Llena de gritos el cardonal
Que hay semerucos allá en el cerro
Y un canto hermoso para cantar
Que hay semerucos allá en el cerro
Y ya la gente empezó a sembrar
Los apamates ya se vistieron
Como en cuaresma los nazarenos
Dulce mejilla la de mi pueblo
Ya la segunda le está doliendo
A mi pueblo manso, mi manso pueblo
Vuelve a tu canto de turpial
Llena de gritos el cardonal
Que hay semerucos allá en el cerro
Y un canto hermoso para cantar
Que hay semerucos allá en el cerro
Y ya la gente empezó a sembrar
Aveces pienso que todo el pueblo
Es un muchacho que va corriendo
Tras la esperanza que se le va
La sangre joven y al sueño viejo
Pero dejando de ser pendejo
Esa esperanza será verdad
Vuelve a tu canto de turpial
Llena de gritos el cardonal
Que hay semerucos allá en el cerro
Y un canto hermoso para cantar
Que hay semerucos allá en el cerro
Y ya la gente empezó a sembrar

It's covering all my land
They ask for life and they give them a century
But as long as nothing happens
in my gentle land
my gentle land
I know that one day you had dreams
You moved a river when you were little
But your soul rejoiced
With the arrival of the gale
Tired footprints have your steps
But although the river is very tame
Step by step, it faces the sea
Go back to your turpial song
The cardonal fills with screams
That there are semerucos there on the hill
And a beautiful song to sing
That there are semerucos there on the hill
And the people began to sow
The apamates are already dressed
As in Lent the Nazarenes
sweet cheek of my people
The second one is already hurting
To my meek people, my meek people
Go back to your turpial song
The cardonal fills with screams
That there are semerucos there on the hill
And a beautiful song to sing
That there are semerucos there on the hill
And the people began to sow
Sometimes I think that the whole town
It's a boy running
After the hope that is gone
The young blood and the old dream
But stop being stupid
That hope will be true
Go back to your turpial song
The cardonal fills with screams
That there are semerucos there on the hill
And a beautiful song to sing
That there are semerucos there on the hill
And the people already began to sow
