My Entry To Hive Open Mic 104 - "Esclavo y Amo" ("Slave and Lord") @orlandobello with his percussion

Greetings, community, here I come again with my cycle of boleros, accompanied by my friend @sayury. This time with the song "Esclavo y Amo" ("Slave and Lord") composed by the Mexican musician José Vaca Flores and that was an indisputable success in 1961 when Javier Solís recorded it.

This has been one of those songs that never goes out of style but, over the years, has continued to bear fruit because more and more artists are performing their own version of it

I want to share with you the bolero ranchero version made by the unforgettable Javier Solís of this romantic song. However, I suggest you look for the versions that other vocalists and also groups (such as "Los PastelesVerdes"/ "The green Cakes") have made of this beautiful song.

No sé que tienen tus ojos
No sé que tiene tu boca
Que domina mis antojos
Y a mi sangre vuelve loca
No sé como fui a quererte
Ni cómo te fui adorando
Me siento morir mil veces
Cuando no te estoy mirando
De noche cuando me acuesto
A Dios le pido olvidarte
Y al amanecer despierto
Tan sólo para adorarte
Qué influencia tienen tus labios
Que cuando me besan tiemblo
Y hacen que me sienta esclavo
Y amo del universo
De noche cuando me acuesto
A Dios le pido olvidarte
Y al amanecer despierto
Tan sólo para adorarte
Qué influencia tienen tus labios
Que cuando me besan tiemblo
Y hacen que me sienta esclavo
Y amo del universo

I don't know what your eyes have
I don't know what's in your mouth
that dominates my cravings
And my blood goes crazy
I don't know how I went to love you
Nor how I was adoring you
I feel like dying a thousand times
when i'm not looking at you
At night when I go to bed
I ask God to forget you
And at dawn I wake up
just to adore you
What influence do your lips have
That when they kiss me I tremble
And they make me feel like a slave
and master of the universe
At night when I go to bed
I ask God to forget you
And at dawn I wake up
just to adore you
What influence do your lips have
That when they kiss me I tremble
And they make me feel like a slave
and master of the universe

<i@sayury sings this bolero for the Lam tone. And it uses the so-called Andalusian Circle, in which it begins with a minor chord and then goes backwards in the tones as in a countdown, but two major chords are made, another dominant seventh and it returns to the initial minor. In this case it is: Lam -Sol - Fa - Mi7 and this melodic pattern will be repeated throughout the song. It's the same accompaniment to songs like "Gitana, gitana" by Willy Colón, "Pure desires to love" by the disappeared group "Daikirí". Also the song "Volverè" ("I will come back") by Wilfrido Vargas uses this accompaniment.
