Known as "Dangerous Attraction" in Latin America, The Town was released in 2010 under the direction and production of Ben Affleck, I remember that at that time I saw it and only called my attention because of the effects, the outcome and the performances of the characters, but my mind at that time was not very trained to meditate and understand the important plots of a movie. Today, looking in my personal Hollywood trunk, I saw the cover and it provoked me to watch it again, so I wasted no time and decided to take a look at it. How different is the perception of a young person to an adult, now with a little more knowledge of life I can enjoy many films that present cases of everyday life even without being films based on real events. The Town as it is mostly known presents a story that does not escape from reality, maybe in this time it is not so recurrent to rob banks but in my youth it was something "common", I even got to know and deal with criminals who had the malice to rob local banks. So this movie in a way takes me back to those times where armed gangs did everything to get a good amount of money illegally. Its plot takes place in Charlestown, a town located in the city of Boston in the United States, as the main character is Ben Affleck who embodies the skin of Doug MacRay, an unemployed man who is dedicated with his friends to rob banks, but has a deep crisis within his being. It turns out that his mother abandoned him when he was 6 years old and his father was an alcoholic and smoker who never took care of him, so he had to learn the things of life in the street and by his own experiences, this led him to get into many problems and to work for a mobster who was the leader and ringleader of the gang in charge of robbing banks.

How important it is to fulfill the role of parents as it should! and I think this was one of the main messages that Ben Affleck wanted to highlight through this production. Jeremy Renner plays James Coughlin, a childhood friend of Doug's, practically his own family since they took him in when the latter was practically orphaned. James is the complete opposite of Doug, he spent 9 years in prison for a murder and when he got out he was still a violent person. Here we can see another criticism of Affleck to the reformation centers, practically prisons are that, however it is far from reality; Coughlin is the perfect example that emulates the life of someone who needs a major intervention to correct his life. His participation in the plot is main, he loves robbing banks and violence, in fact it is the only thing he knows how to do, the interpretation of the character by Jeremy is masterful, there are definitely roles that fit perfectly with the personality of a person, with this I do not mean that Jeremy was a thief or something like that but he definitely knew very well how to act under that form, at times I seemed to be watching many real criminals from my neighborhood. On the side of justice we have a G.i Joe type FBI detective played by Jon Hamm, his intelligence in solving crimes and cunning to get information are two aspects quite remarkable. Final impressions

As a reflection I just want to emphasize the parental role at home, all movies have their messages beyond what we can see on the screen, it is up to us to see that message, but The Town or dangerous attraction -whatever you want to call it- makes us a call to exercise parenthood with responsibility to avoid criminal behavior and unhappiness in our children's lives. This is a common problem in delinquency and at the end of the day death is the only destiny for those who take that path, therefore I consider it a pretty good movie despite the criticism it received at the time, for some it was outstanding but for others a failure, everyone has their own particular opinion. Hoy buscando en mi baúl personal de Hollywood vi la caratula y me provoco volverla a ver, así que no perdí tiempo y decidí darle un vistazo. Que diferente es la percepción de un joven a un adulto, ya con un poco más de conocimiento de la vida puedo disfrutar de muchas películas que presenta casos de la vida cotidiana aun sin ser films basados en hechos reales. The Town como es mayormente conocida presenta una historia que no se escapa de la realidad, quizás en este tiempo no sea tan recurrente el asaltar bancos pero en mis tiempos de juventud era algo "común", incluso llegue a conocer y tratar con criminales que tuvieron la malicia de robar bancos locales. Así que esta película en cierto modo me traslada a esas épocas donde bandas armadas hacían de todo por conseguir una buena cantidad de dinero de forma ilícita. Su trama tiene lugar en Charlestown, un pueblo ubicado en la ciudad de Boston en los Estados Unidos, como personaje principal esta Ben Affleck quien encarna la piel de Doug MacRay, un desempleado que se dedica junto a sus amigos a robar bancos, pero que tiene una crisis profunda dentro de su ser. Resulta que su madre lo abandono cuando tenía 6 años y su padre era un alcohólico y fumador que jamás cuido de él, por lo que tuvo que aprender las cosas de la vida en la calle y por experiencias propias, esto lo llevo a meterse en muchos problemas y a trabajar para un mafioso que era el líder y cabecilla de la banda encargada de asaltar los bancos. ![23613_800x534.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/cjlugo/23vsJSdCynUVAP3GwFniVGZtETuHJBzn8Eb1UVem23H6YgorkvfWWqTU1ngHeSJRYmef2.jpg) [Source]( https://www.tomatazos.com/peliculas/39421/Atraccion-Peligrosa) A medida que la trama se desarrolla podemos ver como la ausencia de padres puede destruir la vida de un niño, en muchas ocasiones he hablado con delincuentes y la mayoría tienen un común denominador, ausencia paterna, claro está que esto no los libra de su propia responsabilidad pero si tiene un gran peso en su desarrollo y acciones posteriores. ¡Cuán importante es cumplir el rol de padres como se debe! y pienso que este fue uno de los mensajes principales que Ben Affleck quiso destacar a través de dicha producción. Jeremy Renner interpreta a James Coughlin, un amigo de la infancia de Doug, prácticamente es su propia familia ya que lo acogieron cuando este último quedo prácticamente huérfano. James es todo lo contrario a Doug, pasó 9 años en la cárcel a causa de un asesinato y cuando salió seguía siendo una persona violenta. Aquí podemos ver otra crítica de Affleck a los centros de reformación, prácticamente las cárceles son eso, sin embargo dista mucho de la realidad; Coughlin es el ejemplo perfecto que emula la vida de alguien que necesita una intervención mayor para poder corregir su vida. Su participación en la trama es principal, le encanta robar bancos y la violencia, de hecho es lo único que sabe hacer, la interpretación del personaje por Jeremy es magistral, definitivamente hay papeles que encajan a la perfección con la personalidad de una persona, con esto no quiero decir que Jeremy era un ladrón o algo por el estilo pero definitivamente conocía muy bien cómo actuar bajo esa forma, por momentos me parecía estar viendo a muchos criminales reales de mi barrio. Por parte de la justicia tenemos a un detective del FBI tipo G.i Joe interpretado por Jon Hamm, su inteligencia en la resolución de los crímenes y la astucia para conseguir información son dos aspectos bastante resaltables. Impresiones finales

A modo de reflexión solo quiero enfatizar el rol paterno en el hogar, todas las películas tienen sus mensajes más allá de lo que podamos ver en la pantalla, queda de nosotros poder ver ese mensaje, pero The Town o atracción peligrosa –como la quieras llamar- nos hace un llamado a ejercer la paternidad con responsabilidad para evitar conductas delictivas e infelicidad en la vida nuestros hijos. Este es un problema común en la delincuencia y al final de cuentas la muerte es el único destino para quienes toman ese camino, por lo tanto considero que es una película bastante buena a pesar de las críticas que recibió en su momento, para unos fue destacable pero para otros un fracaso, cada quien tiene su propia opinión particular.
