Hello my dear Hive Open Mic community. This week 132, at the request of our recent Spotlight Artist @discouragedones, the theme is focused on "Woman Life Freedom", a way to do our bit by calling attention to the mistreatment women suffer in many countries of the world where they are undervalued or despised. This led me to choose the song "MarÃa Paleta" (Mary Wooden Spoon) masterfully performed by the Venezuelan folk music group "Un Solo Pueblo" (Only OnePeople)
The song "MarÃa Paleta" was inspired by the life of a simple woman, MarÃa Rodriguez,, who, in the small town of San Esteban, in Puerto Cabello, Carabobo state, Venezuela, was well known for her friendliness and for the Creole desserts she made and sold. In its elaboration, many times it was up to her to spend the whole night stirring them with a palette or wooden spoon.
Her life inspired Francisco Pacheco to launch the song "Marìa Paleta" in the musical arena in the eighties.
MarÃa RodrÃguez symbolizes for me the Venezuelan working woman and the whole world. The one that has no schedule, no vacations, no holidays. The one that is sometimes mother and other times mother and father.
I would title this post "The Greatness of Women in Anonymity" and I dedicate it to those anonymous heroines who live their daily lives in an extraordinary way
