Hola,mi querida comunidad de Hive Open Mic, espero que todos hayan pasado unas Navidades alegres, en familia, con salud y bienestar. . En esta semana 143 la temática es "Voice Of Hope" (Voz de la Esperanza), tòpico este sugerido por nuestro reciente Artista Destacado @magicfingerz. Por ello seleccioné participar con esta canción "El Sentido de la Navidad", letra y música de @sayury, ya que simboliza esa esperanza que ha mantenido el pueblo venezolano a pesar de todas las circunstancias adversas que lo han golpeado en las últimas décadas.
Para nosotros la Navidad ha sido siempre muy "gastronómica", con platos diversos que se elaboran y consumen solo en dicha época:
La hallaca, una especie de pastel con un relleno muy particular y el cual se cocina envuelto en hojas de la mata de cambur (banana)
El pan de jamón, un pan grande en cuya elaboración sele agrega como relleno jamón planchado, aceitunas, alcaparras y pasas
Ponche crema, un ponche emblemático que se toma muy frìo y cuya versión casera es llamada "Leche de burra" y en cuya elaboración se utilizan aguardiente claro (caña blanca, grapa),leche, huevos, vainilla.
Dulce casero de lechosa (papaya) verde.- Que se elabora con papelón.
Antiguamente asociábamos la Navidad con estos platos, y era algo así como "Navidad sin hallacas no es Navidad". En nuestra situación actual, en la que los alimentos son demasiado costosos y un simple pan con mantequilla se convierte en una "delicatesse" no asequible a todos los bolsillos, la "comida navideña" se ausentó de la mayoría de las mesas venezolanas. Si agregamos el que en esas mesas faltan muchos familiares que se vieron obligados a salir del país buscando una mejora económica para ellos y los suyos, vemos cuan diferentes son las Navidades de ahora de las de antes. Sin embargo, en este canto se hace énfasis en que asi no haya hallacas ni pan de jamón,así el ponche crema no se pueda tomar frío porque el refrigerador no funciona a consecuencia de los frecuentes apagones... podemos seguir riendo, cantando y celebrando, con alegría y esperanza, ya que lo que recordamos es el nacimiento del Niño Jesús, ese es el verdadero sentido de la Navidad y eso no nos lo pueden quitar.

Hello, my dear Hive Open Mic community, I hope you all had a joyful Christmas, with your family, with health and well-being. . In this week 143 the theme is "Voice Of Hope", a topic suggested by our recent Spotlight Artist @magicfingerz. That is why I selected to participate with this song "El Sentido de la Navidad" (Meaning Of Christmas) , lyrics and music by @sayury, since it symbolizes that hope that the Venezuelan people have maintained despite all the adverse circumstances that have hit us in recent decades.
For us, Christmas has always been very "gastronomic", with various meals that are prepared and consumed only at that time:
The hallaca, a kind of cake with a very particular filling and which is cooked wrapped in banana leaves.
The ham bread, a large bread whose preparation is added as filling ironed ham, olives, capers and raisins
Cream punch, an emblematic punch that is taken very cold and whose homemade version is called "Donkey milk" and in whose preparation clear brandy (white cane, staple), milk, eggs, vanilla are used.
Homemade green papaya sweet.- Made with a brown sugar called "papelón"
.In the past we associated Christmas with these meals, and it was something like "Christmas without hallacas is not Christmas". In our current situation, in which food is too expensive and a simple bread with butter becomes a "delicatesse" that is not affordable for all budgets, "Christmas food" has been absent from most Venezuelan tables. If we add the fact that many relatives who were forced to leave the country looking for an economic improvement for themselves and their loved ones are missing from those tables, we see how different Christmases are now from those of before.
However, this song emphasizes that even if there are no hallacas or ham bread, even if the cream punch cannot be taken cold because the refrigerator does not work as a result of the frequent blackouts... we can continue laughing, singing and celebrating with joy and hope since that we remember is the birth of the Child Jesus, that is the true meaning of Christmas and they cannot take that away from us.
