This is why you are POOR

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. Poverty is something no soul on earth want to ever have a taste of but the question is are your actions working against poverty or for it. Time is money is a saying that is widely used but do you spend your time wisely? What exactly do you do to free yourself from the shackles of poverty?

John F. Kennedy once said that β€œThe world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of poverty, and all forms of human life.” We all have the power to change our stories in our hands. You use your hands to decide whether you want to be rich or poor. Failure to do what you are supposed to do at the right time may make your a poor person for life.

A lot of of people boarded a first class flight to poverty by not knowing how to control some parts of their life. Let's take for instance, someone who is always glued to the TV watching one movie or another, playing video games and not dedicating some time to something productive throughout the day. Tell me, is it the video games that will pay your bills? Don't misquote me - entertainment is a good thing but it is best when you've worked. My Principal in Secondary School do echo it in our hears those days that "rest is sweet after hard labor".

Laziness is another master key that opens the door of poverty. Anne Frank said that laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction. You feel some good fulfillment in your mind when you know that you have worked and you'd reap the benefits soon. A lazy person is nothing but a person who rest before even getting started not even talk of getting tired. Lazy people are always praying for the impossible rather than working and make things happen. It is a lazy person that will wish he sees a bag full of money by the roadside. The end result of a perpetual lazy person is always lack because they didn't work for anything.

Most of us are here writing post and commenting on people's post in order to get some rewards but a lazy person will feel it's a waste of time. I have invited some of my friends to join this platform but they see it as a difficult task to do. You hear excuses such as I don't like writing, writing is very difficult and so on. There's nothing easy in this world. It is even more easy to blog because you can do it in the comfort of your home, office, in the cab etc.

"A fool and his money will always part ways because fools in finances are reckless in their spending habits" and "financial literacy is the beginning of a road to financial wealth and independence." are some of my favorite quotes from Samuel Zulu. The need for saving and investing can not but be overemphasized. Anyone who spends on anything that comes their way without considering if it's necessary or needed at that time is building a bridge that links to poverty.
