The twentieth of October twenty twenty is now part of history, a day Nigerian youth will never forget it started as a peaceful protest but ended up being a massacre. For the lives lost, the victims injured and the dreams shattered I decided to share this post. This is like a tribute post to the brave ones out there on the 20th of October 2020 who lost their lives for they will always be remembered.

Police and says(special anti-robbery squad) has been a major problem which is getting out of hand. The Nigerian authorities promised several times to take action but no step was ever taken. The young ones could not hold it any longer it either we let our voice or forever be silenced and so a peaceful protest was put into action.

On Thursday 8 October 2020, the peaceful protest started after videos and pictures of police brutality, harassment and extortion surfaced.

The peaceful protests #ENDSARS was led by young Nigerians in different cities alongside many activists with nothing but the aim of making the government act and find a solution to the madness going on with the police department but instead, the government response was with violent repression amd it seems no solution would be provided
These made the move triumph more and widely received by young Nigerians and the protest continues to grow day by day with more people participating.
The protest continued to take place every day and grew to an extent of international recognition. This was not in favor of the Nigerian government and the push for the peaceful protest to stop led to the death of many young ones.

LEKKI MASSACRE

on 20th of October 2020 was a black Tuesday for Nigerian youth. The young Nigerians had gathered at the lekki tollgate for a peaceful protest, a movement for their voices to be heard for good governance.
But little did they know it was going to be a massacre.
The Nigerian army opened fire on harmless peaceful protesters at the lekki toll gate and many young ones lost their lives.

WHO ORDERED THE SHOOTING?

A question no one has the answer to. Today 20th of October marks a year and I write to honor the lives lost.
for the dream shattered and the victims injured they will forever be remembered for their bravery.
