I'll start by saying, I rarely watch movies. The few times I watched a movie was to clear my head after a stressful day, and most times I don't remember the names. The movie I'm going to talk about is a movie I watched a few days ago titled "4th republic". The movie is a gory movie that tells about the political system and how people force their ways into power. A few numbers of corpers were posted to Ikonu a big city in the confluence state, Kogi, but greed made certain corpers accept bribes to help rig the election in favor of Mrs. Mabel King, a female opposing the current governor. Mr. Aminu.
The process was going on fine late in the night until some group of bandits came, killed everyone except lucky and Amina who managed to escape incognito with a video record from what happened that night. Due to the report of the crisis, election in that zone was cancelled by the independent national electoral committee (INEC) and Aminu was declared the winner. The people of that city, Mrs Mabel, and one of the daughters of the victims in Ikonu killings disagreed with the result and a case was filed to investigate the killing.
In order to conceal their evil deeds, Mr Aminu demands to investigate if his opponent has something to use against him and demands that everyone be killed and the evidence be wiped off when he realizes some corpers had a video of the event. Lucky was killed but a copy of the video was with a man who was assisting Mr Aminu. In the end, justice was served but even the hands of Mrs Mabel King were not completely clean. The movie shows how the political system runs in the country, where people who have wealth need power and position and could do anything to get it. The movie presents how dirty politics could be and where greed could lead to an early end. I don't know why it was considered to be the 4th republic, but the movie showed a glimpse of the affairs in a republic.
