Yes, this is how reports could begin from the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, which the whole vast country listened to with bated breath. Because "Hitler's personal enemy" the All-Union radio announcer Yuri Levitan, who voiced these reports, broadcast from our city from the fall of 1941 to the spring of 1943.
The Sverdlovsk Radio Committee was then located in the very center, in a mansion at the intersection of Radishchev and 8 Marta Streets (the former house of the flour-grinding magnate Evgeny Pervushin.)
Here Yuri Borisovich worked. Actually the relay towers were located on the shore of Lake Shartash, where a cable was stretched from the building of the radio committee.
The evacuation to Sverdlovsk was due to the fact that all Moscow radio stations had stopped working by August 1941. They became beacons for German aircraft and had to be turned off and dismantled.
The radio committee was evacuated away from the front to the city of Kuibyshev (now Samara). In the east of the country, only two powerful radio stations remained operating - one in Novosibirsk, the other in Sverdlovsk. Levitan (he was then 27 years old) was sent to the Middle Urals.
He lived next to his workplace, in the courtyard of the mansion a small wooden house was built for him.
All this was kept in the strictest confidence, and the broadcasts invariably began with the words “Attention! Moscow is speaking! .. ".
And "Moscow" was here.
The secrecy was such that even I, a historian by training, found out about this fact by chance, after the installation of a "memorial plaque." Ironically, in this very basement there was the first communication salon in Yekaterinburg. Потому что "личный враг Гитлера" диктор Всесоюзного радио Юрий Левитан, который эти сводки озвучивал, вещал именно из нашего города с осени 1941 по весну 1943 годов.

Эвакуация в Свердловск была обусловлена тем, что все московские радиостанции к августу 41-го перестали работать. Они стали маяками для немецких самолетов и их пришлось выключить и демонтировать.
Радиокомитет эвакуировали подальше от фронта в город Куйбышев (сейчас Самара). На востоке страны оставались работающими только две мощные радиостанции – одна в Новосибирске, другая – в Свердловске. Левитана (ему тогда было 27 лет) отправили на Средний Урал.

Всё это содержалось в строжайшей тайне.,а эфиры неизменно начинались со слов «Внимание! Говорит Москва!..».
А "Москва" была здесь.
Секретность была такая,что даже я,историк по образованию,узнал об этом факте случайно,после установки "памятной доски ".По иронии судьбы в этом самом подвале находился первый в Екатеринбурге салон связи.Покупая там в середине 90-х "чудо-техники" -пейджер,я увидел "мемориальную доску" и заинтересовался данной историей.
К сожалению,даже ветераны Свердловского радиокомитета (а у меня были хорошие связи с СГТРК) не могли ничего "нового" рассказать,поскольку контакты Левитана были максимально ограничены.Подвал-дом (через специальный ход).
Оно и понятно. Существует легенда, что Гитлер лично обещал 300 тысяч рейхсмарок за "голову врага №1". Легенда или нет. Но...Голос Левитана сам по себе был "оружием". Мощным. Победным.
