During the evacuation of enterprises during the Great Patriotic War, equipment and workers from the Leningrad carburetor plant were brought to the Kuibyshev plant. A little later, the Moscow plant of automotive electrical equipment was also transported. In 1942, by decision from Moscow, the factories were merged into one enterprise. Kuibyshev plant of automotive electrical equipment and carburetors - popularly - KATEK. In 1944 the plant was awarded the Order of Lenin

On June 25, 1975, the plant was named after Alexander Tarasov. In 1984, the company was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. In June 1993 the plant became a joint stock company. Now it is PJSC "ZiT". The plant looks abandoned, but according to online sources, the plant still has about 1,000 employees. Part of the territory is leased. It is likely that in the near future the factory area will be given over for development.
