Best Method to Minimize Visible Pores After Foundation Application

So there are 2 types of solutions to minimize pores during makeup. The first is of course the skin preparation. Taking good care of your skin and using a good chemical exfoliant will ensure that your pores always look small. But I have a super-secret 3 step recipe to temporarily remove all the hunk before a special event. Read till the end to find out about it. Now on to the makeup science part.
.

  1. If you’re using pores minimizing primer (which will almost always be silicone-based) like a benefit professional remember not to use a moisturizer immediately before that: If you have oily to combination skin and/or enlarged pores then apply a rich moisturizer before applying primer is asking for trouble. You can avoid moisturizer or apply it 30 minutes earlier to get the best results.

  2. Even if you’re dry skin: At least let the moisturizer sink in for a few minutes. Reason: silicone. The silicone is going to slide off the moisturizer! it is not going to grab on the skin and it is going to roll.

  3. Remember that all 3 steps of primer foundation and powder should not be done ✅ to the max. If you’re using primer you need to go super easy on your powder. Only use it to lightly set and no baking. If you apply all 3 heavily your skin will look 👀 severely texturized. So go easy on the amount of product.

  4. Never apply foundation like a YouTuber or blogger dripping straight on your face 🤭 take a small amount and apply it on your brush and sponge and then on your skin. Understand that applying two thin layers can be better than one. Use concealer to hide marks, not the foundation. Everrrrr.

  5. Less is more with primer and always use your hands not a brush.

  6. I prefer to use an eyeshadow primer on any deep wrinkles and not use a primer at all otherwise. But everyone is different and you can tell by trial and error what works for you.

Also, remember not to layer water-based foundation over oil-based primers, and silicone foundation works best with silicone primers. If you need a moisturizer as your skin is dry underneath your primer then use a water-based primer. That took 30 minutes before.
