Tener una buena técnica es importante, seguir una rutina de SkinCare también es importante, pero algo que parece simple pero es mucho más importante es la higiene que debemos tener con nuestros cosméticos y nuestras herramientas. Lo que no todos saben o prefieren ignorarlo porque "no les hace nada", pero tanto el maquillaje como las herramientas (Entre ellas brochas, pinzas, entre otros) pueden acumular bacterias, suciedad y otras cosas más. Todo esto es perjudicial para la salud de nuestra piel, es por ello que quiero mostrarles cual es mi rutina en mi colección de maquillaje, enfocándome en la limpieza de mis brochas, a través de esta publicación.
Having a good technique is important, following a SkinCare routine is also important, but something that seems simple but is much more important is the hygiene we must have with our cosmetics and our tools. What not everyone knows or prefer to ignore it because "it doesn't do anything to them", but both makeup and tools (including brushes, tweezers, among others) can accumulate bacteria, dirt and other things. All this is detrimental to the health of our skin, which is why I want to show you what my routine is in my makeup collection, focusing on cleaning my brushes, through this publication.
- Limpieza de Esponjas
Algo que limpio todos los dÃas que me maquillo son las esponjas de maquillaje, ellas son perfectas porque deben utilizarse húmedas asà que cada vez que voy a utilizar una esponja primero la limpio y luego la utilizo. También es valido utilizar la esponja, luego lavarla y cuando se vaya a utilizar otra vez puede ser simplemente mojarla y ya, pero eso ya es gusto de cada persona, a mi se me hace mucho más cómodo limpiarla cada vez que voy a utilizarla porque cuando termino me es más complicado ordenar todo.
Para limpiarla simplemente la sumerjo en un recipiente con agua y jabón lÃquido o Shampoo, durante unos 10 minutos, luego puedo sacarla y si tiene mucho producto la paso por un jabón en barra para desprender totalmente el maquillaje, después la paso por mucha agua y eso es todo.
- Sponge Cleaning
Something that I clean every day that I do my makeup are the makeup sponges, they are perfect because they must be used wet so every time I'm going to use a sponge first I clean it and then I use it. It is also valid to use the sponge, then wash it and when you are going to use it again you can simply wet it and that's it, but that is the taste of each person, to me it is much more comfortable to clean it every time I'm going to use it because when I finish it is more complicated to put everything in order.
To clean it I simply dip it in a container with water and liquid soap or Shampoo, for about 10 minutes, then I can take it out and if it has a lot of product I pass it through a bar soap to completely remove the makeup, then I pass it through a lot of water and that's it.
- Limpieza Instantánea Sutil
Existe un producto llamado "Brush Cleanser" el cual es un potente limpiador de brochas instantáneo, el cual las deja sin pigmento, satanizadas y secas en cuestión de segundos. El que yo poseo es de la marca "City Colors", tiene un costo de 5$ y contiene 40ml. Debemos mojar la brocha con este producto y pasarla por una servilleta o pañuelo limpio para depositar todo el pigmento, haciendo distintos movimientos de forma sutil, una vez que la brocha la pasemos y no salga nada (Puede quedar "manchada" de color pero estará limpia) estará lista, en cuestión de segundos estará seca y podemos utilizarla.
Esto lo hago cada 2 dÃas más o menos o cuando quiero utilizar una brocha que esta sucia de pigmento muy diferente al que quiero utilizar. Es importante mencionar que esta limpieza instantánea no reemplaza a la limpieza profunda.
- Instant Subtle Cleansing
There is a product called "Brush Cleanser" which is a powerful instant brush cleaner that leaves brushes pigment-free, satiny and dry in a matter of seconds. The one I own is from the brand "City Colors", it costs 5$ and contains 40ml. We must wet the brush with this product and pass it through a napkin or clean handkerchief to deposit all the pigment, making different movements in a subtle way, once we pass the brush and nothing comes out (It can be "stained" with color but it will be clean) it will be ready, in a matter of seconds it will be dry and we can use it.
I do this every 2 days or so or when I want to use a brush that is dirty with pigment very different from the one I want to use. It is important to mention that this instant cleaning does not replace the deep cleaning.
- Limpieza Profunda
La limpieza profunda es la necesaria para eliminar todas esas bacterias y cosas que pueden dañar nuestro rostro. Es aquà donde utilizamos jabón y agua, limpiamos cada una de nuestras brochas de ojos, rostro y esponjas de maquillaje con mucho cuidado. Para hacer mi trabajo más fácil ubico algunos frascos que lleno de poquita agua y agrego jabón liquido (muchas personas utilizan lavaplatos, no me gusta pero lo respeto, limpiadores especiales, limpiadores a base de aceite y asÃ, yo utilizo Jabón Liquido o Shampoo para luego colocar las brochitas, sin llegar a tocar el mango de metal ya que esto puede hacer que se despegue y la brocha se dañe.
Dejo remojar las brochas durante una hora aproximadamente, luego voy sacando cada una y las limpio con más jabón liquido, agua, me apoyo de mi mano o utilizo bandejas con formitas para que el pigmento se desprenda. Enjuago muy bien cada brocha y esponja, las dejo secar durante 1 dÃa o más, dependiendo de cada brocha.
- Deep Cleansing
Deep cleansing is necessary to remove all those bacteria and things that can damage our face. This is where we use soap and water, clean each of our eye brushes, face brushes and makeup sponges very carefully. To make my job easier I place some jars that I fill with a little water and add liquid soap (many people use dishwasher, I don't like it but I respect it, special cleaners, oil based cleaners and so on, I use Liquid Soap or Shampoo and then place the brushes, without touching the metal handle as this can make it come off and damage the brush.
I let the brushes soak for about an hour, then I take each one out and clean them with more liquid soap, water, I use my hand or I use trays with small holes for the pigment to come off. I rinse each brush and sponge very well and let them dry for 1 day or more, depending on each brush.
Las limpiezas profundas se hacen dependiendo la cantidad de brochas que posean y de las veces que las utilicen, se recomienda una vez a la semana si se maquillan regularmente. Yo me maquillo mucho pero tengo muchas brochas asà que las voy rotando dependiendo de mis necesidades, además que me apoyo mucho del limpiador instantáneo porque esperar que las brochas se sequen muy bien para poder utilizarlas es muy limitante ya que yo me debo maquillar casi a diario para poder crear contenido. Aún asà es necesario hacer las limpiezas profundas, no solo el maquillaje no se ve feo cuando las herramientas están sucias, si no que nuestra salud de la piel se ve afectada y eso es mucho peor. Deep cleansing is done depending on how many brushes you own and how often you use them, once a week is recommended if you do your makeup regularly. I do a lot of makeup but I have a lot of brushes so I rotate them depending on my needs, plus I rely a lot on the instant cleanser because waiting for the brushes to dry very well to be able to use them is very limiting since I have to do my makeup almost every day to be able to create content. Still it is necessary to do the deep cleanses, not only does the makeup not look ugly when the tools are dirty, but our skin health is affected and that is much worse.
