Is weak sauce still a thing? Probably not. First rule of "Me Club" is "If I have heard of it, it is already over!" Yes, I am always clueless and irrelevant, but one thing that is NEVER clueless and irrelevant is claiming your rewards from fierce Guild Brawls!
I am a proud member of the Mighty Mighty THGaming 2 Guild! Yes, the numbering system suggests I am not an elite player, but I still got pride! #THGaming FTW Boom!!! Or as our average ranking suggests, "THGaming 2 for the 3rd Place!!! pow"
I am usually to blame for us not winning every Brawl, as I have a sort of pitiful deck and rely on starter cards to fill my Frays. But...BUT! I do have Gladius cards!
Right now the rewards in my League consist of SPS staked tokens and Merits. Everyone knows SPS by now, but they are one of the many strange currencies that you can use to do...stuff?...in Splinterlands (such as earn GLX!). But Merits are another beast. They are rewards to Guilds for Brawl wins and can be used to get soul-bound Gladius cards through the store. Soul-bound means you cannot sell, rent, or transfer them. They are like the spellbook you need to buy in order to play the P2E version of Splinterlands - they are going nowhere.
But there is very little that give me more satisfaction than my Gladius cards bashing and bloodlusting their way through a perfectly chosen brawl!
Buy Me!
You get Gladius cards by opening Gladius packs, so what the heck am I waiting for??? Open that pack!
Hmm, Guess you had to be there...it looked cooler in real life!
You get 5 cards, and you can click on each one to open, which ups the drama. I say drama, but as someone who has terrible luck with packs, my expectations are often so low that worms need to duck their heads.
This time, though. Pretty...pretty...pretty good!
I got an Epic not just the mandatory Rare this time! Trapp Falloway is a pretty cool card. I always have high expectations for him to go berzerk on the other team, which he has potential to do, but somehow I always put him in the wrong slot and get gets mangled by some sniper. But still, nice card!
I already have written a post entirely devoted to the glory that is Chimney Wallstop on a roll (here) so I am happy to stack this bad boy.
Bertrol and Whistling Damon both have their uses depending on battle conditions, so that's fine. You expect to mostly get Common cards, or at least I do.
And then we have the GF card for Isgald Vorst. Now, if this was a Riftwatchers or Chaos Legion pack, I would be excited for a GF card, but given I can't rent or sell this card, it is only useful if I play in Gold brawls and have a high enough level summoner.
I do not. So, while it is fun to see the "Gold Shimmer" on opening, it makes no difference to me. But, I do appreciate the nod from the Luck Gods to say they occasionally will throw some scraps my way.
But when will they give me QUORA!!!???!!!???
Thanks for reading, and I hope your Gladius pack openings are even more exciting than mine!
