It is not easy to define the term “surrealism” however we recognize easily if a piece (of art) is surrealist. According André Breton (one of its main theoretician) the aim of this movement is “resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a super-reality” .
I tried to construct this “super-reality” with this image, playing with symmetries, obtaining in this way a specular image.
The based photo of the image was taken with a Sony DSC-R1 in historical city center of Bogotá. The edition was done in Gimp.

No es fácil definir el surrealismo, sin embargo uno reconoce inmediatamente una obra (artística) surrealista. De acuerdo con André Breton (uno de los principales teóricos de este movimiento) uno de sus principales objetivos es “convertir las contradicciones de los sueños y la realidad en una realidad absoluta, una súper realidad”.
Trate de construir esta “súper realidad” con la imagen que muestro, jugando con las simetrías, obteniendo de esta forma una imagen especular.
La foto base fue tomada con una cámara Sony DSC-R1 en el centro histórico de Bogotá. La edición se efectuó en Gimp.
