This photo is my entry in the Qurator’s Photo Quest of this week, the topic is radial photography. The rules of the contest can be read here
After reading about the theme of this week challenge I was searching through my photo collection andI picked this one. I captured it some years ago when I was living in Vienna. It corresponds to an internal view of a dome at the Imperial Palace of the Austrian capital (Hofburg).
The design of this dome is quite interesting, certainly it has radial symmetry. In addition to that the ornamentation remains me of a “self-similar” structure, typical of the fractals. From the technical point of view this photo is not easy, due to the high contrast caused by the light coming from the windows of the dome.
I show the photo in black and white format and in its original colors. Which format do you prefer?
The photo was taken with a camera Sony ILCE-6000 with lens Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 and edited with Gimp.

Con esta foto estoy participando en el concurso fotográfico de esta semana organizado por @qurator, cuyo tema es fotografía radial. Los reglas del concurso se encuentran en este enlace.
Cuando supe del tema del concurso me puse a buscar en mi archivo fotográfico imágenes que se ajustaran al tema. La que seleccioné y muestro en esta oportunidad la tomé hace unos años atrás cuando vivía en Viena, corresponde a una vista interior a uno de los domos del Palacio Imperial de la capital austriaca (“Hofburg”).
El diseño de la cúpula es bien interesante, ciertamente tiene simetría radial, pero su ornamentación me recuerda a una estructura “auto similar”, típica de los fractales. Desde el punto de vista técnico la fotografía no fue fácil, por el gran contraste, producido por la luz entrante por las ventanas de la bóveda.
Muestro la imagen tanto en formato blanco y negro como en sus colores originales. ¿Qué versión les gusta más?
El equipo utilizado fue una cámara Sony ILCE-6000 con lente Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 y las imágenes fueron editadas usando Gimp.
