Qurator's Photo Quest | HEAT - BONFIRE.

As a kid, I have always loved Bonfires, I remember in my very early years been around 4 or 5 years old we use to have what they called cracker-nights we would build a big bonfire a pile of wood and sticks in the shape of a tent and when night time came we would burn this bonfire tent and let all over fire crackers of, over the night the sky would be lit up like the 4th of July celebrations they have in American only ours in Australia was a celebration for Queen Victoria's birthday on May 24 which was named Empire Day. I remember saving all my pocket money so, I could buy as many fire crackers as possible for this great event.

Those were some of the best nights of my life watching them massive firework sky rockets soaring into the sky like a space shuttle then boom all those glittering colors would fill the sky and the sounds of all the various other fire crackers going of around the neighborhoods sounded like World War II was just so excitement and overwhelming to see as a kid.

I use to liked the sounds of the bonfires crackling and sputtering away as this roaring blaze of heat turned these branches and twigs into a sizzling crisp then you would hear them snapping, gasping for there last breath before tumbling into a pile of ashes.

I still remember playing games with my brothers and sister when we would try and guess what figure or shape the flames of the fire was giving out using our imagination was quite funny in what we would see, if you let your imagination go, like these next ones, these were some bonfires on some of our camping trips yes, I am a lot older now and still playing this game around camp fires with my friends kids.

Unfortunately this Bonfire Night also known as Cracker Night which had been a annual event celebrated as a traditional event in Australia and England for over 400 years sadly came to a end been banned in Australia, June 1986, by the State government for safety reasons but the great memories of those nights still live on.
