When I was cleaning out our linen closet at age 40-ish, at the very bottom I found a purplish folded up patterned cloth.
Mama said she'd forgotten it was there.
Daddy had bought her a Singer Sewing machine not long after I was born, and mama saw the pattern in a House and Garden mag.
She got the fabric and created the quilt top, then folded it and put it away.
I found it some 40 yrs later and paid to have it made into a light weight quilt with batting.
(I had it dry cleaned and it has been wrapped in plastic for a couple of years until tonight)
