Hive Top Chef! | Weekly Cooking Competition | Vietnamese Bánh Mì is my breakfast

Thanks to @qurator; this is a whole new level of food photography contest; not just a wonderful food post but with a specific ingredient and recipe as well! To find out more about this contest, check out HIVE TOP CHEF!

This week's Hive Top Chef Ingredient is BREAKFAST.

And I decided to share my breakfast this morning. My own version of Vietnamese Bánh Mì . Bánh Mì or banh mi is the Vietnamese word for bread. In Vietnamese cuisine, it also refers to a type of baguette that is often split lengthwise and filled with various savory ingredients as a sandwich and served as a meal. Plain Bánh Mì is also eaten as a staple food.

For today, I've prepared my own little twist of Bánh Mì.

One good thing about making the best Bánh Mì is that the ingredients is basically up to you, so long as you use Bánh Mì as the bread. Best is to buy the Bánh Mì fresh from the bakery or local bread sellers as it won't last more than a couple of hours.

For my breakfast, I decided on these ingredients:

To fry
Garlic Pork Sausage
One whole egg

Condiments
Lettuce
Basil leaf
One Bánh Mì
Chilli sauce
Cheese

Fit everything into the Bánh Mì and then it's ready to indulge 😆
May not look much but it's the best breakfast ever for me.
At least, I've managed to make my own Bánh Mì instead of paying VND25,000 for one.

Hope you enjoy my version of Bánh Mì and try it yourself. You'll be surprised to know that in every little home of yours, you have a twist of Vietnamese in you 😉
