| Увидев тему данного конкурса, я вспомнила о краеведческом музее в городе Маркс, где я побывала 27 мая 2022 года. Инструментов там представлено очень много. |
Seeing the theme of this competition, I remembered the local history museum in the city Marks, where I visited on May 27, 2022. There are a lot of instruments out there. |

| А история у города интересная и в итоге печальная. В 1763 г. российская императрица Екатерина II (по происхождению немка) издала манифест о позволении иностранцам селиться в России. Это стало началом массовой иммиграции, прежде всего, немцев-протестантов. России не хватало трудоспособного населения для освоения всех земель. Иммигрантам не хватало земли на своей родине. |
And the history of the city is interesting and ultimately sad. In 1763, the Russian Empress Catherine II (German by birth) issued a manifesto allowing foreigners to settle in Russia. This was the beginning of mass immigration, primarily of Protestant Germans. Russia did not have enough able-bodied population to develop all the lands. Immigrants did not have enough land in their homeland. |

The largest German colony of the Saratov Trans-Volga region was named after the Russian Empress - Ekaterinenstadt (local residents - German colonists - called their settlement Katharinenstadt). Unofficially, the city was called Baronsk. Over time, the inhabitants settled in the new land, they were mainly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. |

The German colonists took root in the new land, despite the harsh climate. They kept their traditions, but considered themselves full-fledged citizens of the new homeland. In the Soviet country, the city was renamed Marksshtadt, since 1942 - Marks. |
| Во время Великой отечественной войны немцам пришлось расплачиваться за свою национальность. 28 августа 1941 издан указ о переселении немцев Поволжья. Получив 24 часа на сборы, немецкие жители республики были вывезены в отдаленные районы Сибири, Казахстана и Средней Азии. Восстановили их в правах лишь после смерти Сталина, в 1955г. Но в Поволжье вернулись немногие. Кто-то обжился на новом месте. Экскурсовод в музее нам рассказал, что, несмотря на указ, власти сопротивлялись возвращению немецких переселенцев. А к окончанию СССР произошла массовая миграция уже в обратном (по отношению к 18 веку) порядке. Власти Германии приглашали всех, имеющих немецкое происхождение, в свою страну и сотни тысяч русских немцев воспользовались этой возможностью. |
During the Great Patriotic War, the Germans had to pay for their nationality. On August 28, 1941, a decree was issued on the resettlement of the Volga Germans. Having received 24 hours to pack, the German inhabitants of the republic were taken to remote areas of Siberia, Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Their rights were restored only after the death of Stalin, in 1955. But few returned to the Volga region. Someone settled down in a new place. The guide in the museum told us that, despite the decree, the authorities resisted the return of German settlers. And by the end of the USSR, mass migration took place in the reverse (in relation to the 18th century) order. The German authorities invited everyone of German origin to their country, and hundreds of thousands of Russian Germans took advantage of this opportunity. |
